The encounter between Umm Salal and Al Sailiya always evokes keen interest as they both are keen on finishing among the top four. It will be no different when they face off in Week 12 of the QNB Stars League on Friday, 9th November. The kick-off is at 19:20 at the Al Gharafa Stadium, which hosts Umm Salal’s home matches.
Al Sailiya are fourth in the table with 19 points, one less than third-placed Al Sadd and two adrift of second-placed Al Rayyan.
The Peregrines have six wins under their belt. They drew one match and lost four to have a goal difference of +8 (21 goals for and 13 against).
Umm Salal are placed seventh with 15 points (four wins, as many defeats and three draws). They have a goal difference of -5, having scored 16 goals and conceded 21.
Umm Salal have not been able to win since their 1-0 victory over Al Khor in Week 7. They drew two matches and lost as many, the latest being a 1-5 defeat at the hands of Al Sadd.
On the other hand, Al Sailiya are coming off a 5-0 victory over Al Kharaitiyat in the last round, with inform strikers Rachid Tiberkanine and Abdelqadir Ilyas scoring three and two goals respectively.
That may give Al Sailiya’s Tunisian coach Sami Trabelsi more confidence than his Umm Salal counterpart Laurent Banide from France.
Both teams have players of high calibre and who can deliver the goods.
Al Sailiya had won 2-1 when they played against each other in the first leg.
