Al Ahli and Umm Salal will open yet another round’s action by playing against each other in the opener of Week 14 of the QNB Stars League on Friday, 30th November. The kick-off is at 16:00 at the Al Ahli Stadium.
Al Ahli are fifth with 22 points after 13 rounds (seven wins, one draw and five defeats) to have a goal difference of +1 (22 goals for and 21 against).
Umm Salal are seventh with 16 points (four victories, as many draws and five defeats) to have a goal difference of -7 (17 goals for and 24 against).
Al Ahli, coached by Czech Milan Macala, are indeed on a high as they are unbeaten in six matches. They won five of them and drew once.
Al Ahli defeated Qatar SC 1-0 in Week 13 of the QNB Stars League last week. It was also The Brigadiers’ seventh win.
More importantly, they have a chance to storm into the top-four bracket for the first time this season depending on their result and also of Al Rayyan, who are currently fourth in the table.
Umm Salal have collected only three points from their last six matches. The Orange Fortress held Al Rayyan 1-1 in Week 13.
The decline in performance had seen the team part ways with Dutch coach Laurent Banide recently.
Al Ahli have players of great calibre such as Meshaal Abdulla, Mohammed Muntari, Mohsine Moutaouly, Nigel de Jong, Omid Ibrahim, Ali Ferydoon and Ali Qaderi.
Umm Salal mainly depend on the dangerous strike duo of Yannick Sagbo and Mahmoud Al Mawas.
