Al Khor and Qatar SC will fight it out in the first match on Friday in Week 17 of the QNB Stars League. The kick-off is at 16:50 at the Al Khor Stadium.
Al Khor are languishing at the 11th position with nine points. Only Al Kharaitiyat, with three points, are below them in the table, so The Knights are technically not safe from the relegation threat.
Bernard Casoni’s men badly need points at this stage and that should make the contest interesting.
Al Khor have only two wins to show for their efforts, while they lost 11 games and drew three. Their goal difference is -20 (13 goals for and 33 against).
Qatar SC, coached by Argentinian FIFA World Cup star Sergio Batista, are 10th in the table with 16 points. They have four wins, as many draws and eight defeats against their name. Their goal difference is -9 (14 goals for and 23 against).
Al Khor suffered a 2-6 defeat at the hands of leaders Al Sadd, whereas Qatar SC played out a goalless draw with promoted Al Shahania in Week 16.
Al Khor had strengthened their ranks with many player signings in the January transfer window in their bid to improve position.
The game is an opportunity for Al Khor to prove many points and Qatar SC to regain their form. Both teams have players capable of delivering the goods, so it remains to be seen who will have the last laugh.
