The QNB Stars League Week 7 fixtures on Friday are Al Gharafa vs Al Kharaitiyat (17:50) at Al Gharafa Stadium and Umm Salal vs Al Khor (20:00) at Al Gharafa Stadium.
Al Gharafa vs Al Kharaitiyat
While Al Gharafa are coming off two successive losses, against Umm Salal and Al Duhail, Al Kharaitiyat have not tasted success so far this season, let alone collect a point.
Al Kharaitiyat had lost to Umm Salal in Week 6.
Al Gharafa have only seven points from six games and will be keen to collect more points at this stage if they are to nurture hopes of finishing among the top four, like they did last season.
Al Kharaitiyat badly seek some points in order to stay away from the danger zone.
Umm Salal vs Al Khor
It will not be easy for either team. Umm Salal are on a hat-trick of victories, but Al Khor can prove a tricky side, as they have done on many occasions.
Umm Salal have 10 points and Al Khor two.
The match will also be noted for the French school of coaching as Laurent Banide’s Umm Salal will be facing the challenge from Al Khor who are under new coach Bernard Casoni.
Al Khor recruited Casoni last week after they had sacked Tunisian Adel Sellimi following a series of negative results and put Under-23 coach Omar Najhi in charge.
This is Casoni’s first stint in Qatar football.
