Al Ahli 2 Al Sailiya 0

Al Ahli produced a convincing win as they eased past Al Sailiya 2-0 at the Qatar SC Stadium.

After a slow start, things picked up in the 18th minute when Ali Ferydoon found the net with a neat flick.

Al Ahli, one of the toughest sides in the country, added one more when Meshaal Abdulla scored from close range in the 80th minute.

The second goal completed Al Ahli’s comfortable victory.

It was Al Ahli’s first win, having lost 0-3 to Al Rayyan in the last round.

For Al Sailiya, usually a side that produces fighting wins, it was their second successive loss in the popular tournament (they had lost 1-2 to Al Khor earlier) usually played when there is a break in the QNB Stars League.

Al Sadd 0 Al Rayyan 8

Al Rayyan beat Al Sadd 8-0 at the Al Duhail Stadium, with Brazilian forward Lucca Borges scoring a hat-trick. He found the mark in the fifth, 57th and 71st minutes.

A brace by skipper Rodrigo Tabata (36th and 41st) and goals by Mohammed Juma (54th), Ahmad Mohamed Al Sayyid (61st) and Aldoukali Side (71st) sealed the big victory.

The Wolves fielded a youthful side while Al Rayyan decided to go full throttle for the first match between the two sides since last month’s Qatar Clasico that was easily won by Al Sadd 5-0.

Al Rayyan dominated the proceedings as Al Sadd regulars Xavi Hernandez, Baghdad Bounedjah, Hassan Al Haydous and Akram Afif were all rested.
