Al Sadd coach Xavi Hernandez spoke to the media ahead of their 2020-21 season QNB Stars League Week 6 match against Al Arabi.

“An important match awaits us and our opponents are a very strong team, which has qualified for the Amir Cup final. They are going through good times and have good players and a good coach, so the match will be very difficult, as is usually the case with all matches between the two teams.

“Certainly, we aspire to win the three points and we do not have many injuries. Only Baha Ellaithi and goalkeeper Saad Al Dossari will be absent because of injury. All other players are ready. Now, we have a large group to choose the squad and we are very happy.

“I think Al Sadd are the favorites to win, but we have to show our true level on the field. We have experience playing such matches, as there is no room for mistakes. Al Sadd are the league leader and we must maintain the lead until the end of the tournament,” said Xavi.

Al Sadd player Mohammed Waad said, “We are ready to face Al Arabi. The morale of all our players is very high as we look to collect the three points in order to stay in the lead.

“The Qatar national team experience in the matches against Costa Rica and South Korea was a wonderful experience for me. And I thank the coach of national team Felix Sanchez for his confidence in me and I hope to live up to expectations in the upcoming matches.”
