Sissoko happy with his form

Published on: 01 December 2018

France international midfielder Moussa Sissoko is pleased that he has finally been able to win the Tottenham fans over.

The 29-year-old moved to north London from Newcastle, where he endured a difficult spell, for £30million in 2016, and has often been castigated by the Spurs faithful for numerous below-par performances.

However, he has been outstanding for Mauricio Pochettino's side this season and was particularly impressive in the important victories against Chelsea in the Premier League last weekend and the midweek Champions League triumph against Inter Milan.

Spurs bring an important week to an end by visiting Arsenal for the north London derby on Sunday, and Sissoko is looking forward to playing in the encounter.

"At the moment I'm happy with what I'm doing on the pitch so I hope to keep going in that way. Since I came here, some periods weren't easy, but I never gave up and everyone here helped me to give my best," he said.

"It's a great feeling to hear the fans singing my name, every player wants this kind of emotion."

Spurs have only won one of the last 25 Premier League games played at Highbury and Emirates Stadium but are 7/4 to taste victory on Sunday.

Pochettino's third-placed team are 3/10 to finish in the top four this term, while the Gunners can be backed at 13/8.
