Umm Salal have arrived in Slovenia for their pre-season training camp.

The Umm Salal contingent arrived in Slovenia on Tuesday after a flight from Doha to Croatia and then to Slovenia by bus.

Umm Salal will remain in Slovenia until July 25.

The mission was received at the Zagreb International Airport in Croatia by Ali Amin, Sports Director of Umm Salal.

The football delegation was escorted from Doha by Nasser Al-Fadala, the team's manager. The mission then reached Slovenia following a two-hour bus journey.

French coach Laurent Banide preferred not to train after the arrival at the team’s hotel to allow players some much-needed rest.

The first training session was held on Wednesday morning at the training venue next to the team's hotel.

The team will play four friendly matches during the camp with teams from Croatia, Slovenia and Turkey.

Sheikh Hamad bin Nasser Al Thani, President of Umm Salal, spoke to Sports Director Amin to check on the conditions of the members of the mission as soon as they arrived in Slovenia, the club said.

He is expected to join the team during the next few days.

Coach Banide confirmed the players will undergo training twice a day so that the squad quickly gets into the groove ahead of the new season in Qatar.

Umm Salal play Al Sailiya in the season-opener on August 4 at Khalifa International Stadium.
