Vardy pleased with new style

Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy believes he can thrive under Brendan Rodgers and is much happier with the team's high-press style of play.

The 32-year-old former Fleetwood Town forward scored two late goals in Saturday's 3-1 victory against relegation-haunted Fulham to bring his tally for the club up to 101.

Vardy has scored five times in his last five appearances for the Foxes after struggling during Claude Puel's spell in charge of the club.

He said: "We had a proper full week of the new manager's training and I think that showed with what we put in against Fulham.

"He wants it at a high-tempo with a quick press, trying to win the ball back as quickly as possible and, if you win it high up, you're going to get lots of chances.

"It has definitely benefited me but we all know there is a lot more hard work to come and that starts when we get back on the training field. We're looking forward to it."

Saturday's victory lifted Leicester up to 10th in the Premier League table and they are available at 4/6 to finish in the top half this season.

They visit Burnley on Saturday and are 15/2 to win 1-0 at Turf Moor. The Clarets, who lost 4-2 at Liverpool on Sunday, are 4/1 to be relegated this term.
