Al Rayyan Under-23 coach Gilson Souza spoke to the media ahead of their QNB Stars League Week 19 match against Al Khor.
“I am happy that we made good progress in the AFC Champions League by beating Uzbekistan’s Lokomotiv in the second round, after losing our opening game. Our players showed good levels, thanks to team spirit which was the main reason and will be the key to victory over Al Khor as well.
“The Asian engagements are behind us for the time being and it is back to the QNB Stars League, where we will face Al Khor. They are a strong side that showed great potential during their previous two games which they won. So we must be wary of them.
“Now, I have the opportunity to be the coach and keep working towards our goals. Seventeen points separate us from leaders Al Sadd. Our goal is to stay in the top four,” said Souza.
