Al Wakrah coach Marquez Lopez spoke to the media ahead of their 2020-21 season QNB Stars League Week 9 match against Al Khor.
“We have prepared well for what would be a tough clash just like the rest of the league matches. All are tough matches. I think that we will bring back some of the players in this match as they have recovered from the injuries they were suffering from. This, of course, is important for the team and I think we have prepared well for this match to win and gain momentum.
“It was a heavy defeat (in the last round) but if I see the match, the result does not reflect the reality of our progress. The performance was good and there were mistakes that saw us concede goals. In the current period, which is witnessing the pressure of matches, I see it is much better than playing one or two games followed by a break. Continuity of matches is better without a doubt,” said Marquez.
Al Wakrah player Abdulrahman Fakhro said, “Our preparations have been good and, God willing, we are ready for this match. Our goal is clear which is to win and collect the three points from this match. We have corrected our mistakes that we made in the last match and are determined to provide a good level against Al Khor.”
