Al Arabi coach Heimir Hallgrimsson spoke to the media ahead of their 2019-20 QNB Stars League Week 20 match against Al Wakrah.
“Our competitor is a good team with a lot of talent. Tactically, they are a very organised team and it is difficult to play against them, so we have to focus on the match.
“We are happy with what our players have displayed in the previous two games and we must focus on what we do. We must also work to continue to develop. Without a doubt, we focus on ourselves, we do not focus on Al Wakrah.
“Although we are not satisfied with one point from two matches, the thing that makes us happy is the performance of the team and the players, so if we are able to continue building on the pattern, we hope we will start scoring three points from every match we play.
“Al Arabi’s performance was good, not only against Al Rayyan, but also against Al Gharafa. But we did not get what we wanted and my team is improving every day. The team spirit is high and all players work hard with team spirit.
“I would be surprised if we get to the top-four bracket, but we will fight till the end and do our best to get points from the next three matches, which is undoubtedly difficult. We are striving to improve our position,” said Hallgrimsson.
Al Arabi player Mohammed Saad said, “I am happy to be with the team and I will try to prove myself during the next stage. The Al Wakrah match is difficult because they are a good team, but we will play in order to get the points. I am ready to implement the coach’s plan. Our team includes a good group of young players and the coach supports them, which is a strong motivation for us. We will fight to win the next matches to ensure a good position in the table.”
