Xavi ruled out of Al Sailiya clash

Al-Sadd midfielder Xavi will miss the upcoming QNB Stars League clash against Al-Sailiya, which is set to be played on Sunday at the Jassim bin Hamad Stadium.

Xavi’s absence was confirmed after he was deemed to be unfit to play the game. He is joined on the sidelines by Abdelkarim Hassan and Meshaal Barsham, who are also not match-fit.

The team held their final training session on Saturday evening and focused on technical drills with the ball, before holding a practice mini game. After the end of the session, head coach Jesualdo Ferreira announced the 18-man squad for the game.

The matchday squad is as follows: Saad Al-Dosari, Jehad Mohammed, Yasir Abubakar, Khoukhi Boualem, Tareq Salman, Baghdad Bounedjah, Pedro Miguel, Hatem Kamal, Gabi, Jung Woo-young, Hamid Ismail, Akram Afif, Ali Asad, Saoud Al-Nasr, Salem Al-Hajri, Ahmed Sayyar, Musab Kheder, Hassan Al-Haydos.

Later, the squad left for a closed camp at the Westin Doha Hotel, where they will stay overnight before leaving for the game on Sunday evening.
