Al Rayyan had parted ways with Argentinian Rodolfo Arruabarrena by mutual consent and handed over the reins to their Under-23 coach Yuri O de Souza following their QNB Stars League Week 8 defeat to Al Khor.

Al Rayyan are presently fourth in the standings with 14 points, after Al Duhail (19), Al Sadd (17) and Al Sailiya (16).

Bulent is no stranger to Qatar football. He had coached Al Gharafa from the start of second phase of 2017-18 season QNB Stars League and guided the team to a creditable fourth place, thereby earning them a berth in the elite Qatar Cup.

He was at Umm Salal’s helm during 2013-16.

Bulent had made it big at the club and country levels as an attacking midfielder. He had captained Fenerbahce, where he spent most of his club career, apart from playing for the Turkey national team 18 times.
